HISTORY OF GERALD
Gerald Wacky wasn't born with any significant natural skills, yet strived tirelessly to become recognised as being exceptional in something .... anything.
Despite yearning to become a World Champion, all his efforts failed miserably and for much of his early life he looked on in envy at others - oh how he wished he'd been born gifted - maybe an athlete, a musician, even a rare genetic disorder might have satisfied his cravings - but alas it was not to be.
Gerald Wacky stumbled through life until one day, whilst walking in the park with some friends he spotted a squirrel gathering nuts up a tree. Gerald was fascinated by this small rodent's efforts, and watched for a while. Upon realising that his friend's hadn't spotted the squirrel, Gerald pointed towards it and said 'look dear friends .... do you see that squirrel up the tree'.
His friends replied 'No Gerald, where is it ....'
'There' responded Gerald 'There .... up that tree'
and continued to point at it.
This jocular banter between friends continued for a few minutes as Gerald struggled to point at the small wildlife creature which had now become obscured by some leaves. Finally, when the squirrel was no longer in sight, Gerald let his arm drop and noticed a slight aching in his forefinger which had been fully extended during this period of pointing. In a 'eureka' moment, Gerald realised it had taken considerable effort on his part to sustain such prolonged pointing and rushed home in a state of euphoria.
Many hours of extensive research later confirmed his suspicions .... he had set a new World Record for pointing - though not at the squirrel as he first thought - his friends were unable to substantiate that due to their not actually seeing the elusive mammal - but at the tree in which the squirrel resided. There were a number of witnesses prepared to testify to that fact.
With renewed vigour Gerald Wacky set about the task of informing the relevant authorities of his World Record achievement and swiftly set about arranging press conferences as well as re-mortgaging his house to invest in an extensive new wardrobe of clothes in anticipation of countless television appearances. Unfortunately this did not transpire and his new World Record for 'pointing at a tree' did not even warrant response from any official organisation that monitors such events.
Undaunted, and vowing to ensure that World Record Holders like himself would no longer be ignored, he established an organisation that would finally recognise all achievements no matter how insignificant they might seem to others.
This Organisation was initially known as
www.gerald_wacky_the_tree_pointer_and_other_weird_and_wonderful_stuff_like_that.com
but this was changed to www.WackyRecords.com as it looked better on his business cards.
Gerald Wacky has since continued his World Record breaking spree, with over 4,000 new records achieved to date. One of his proudest moments was when he awarded himself the title of 'The World's Record Breaking World Champion Record Breaker'.
